My brother is still visiting from Virginia and has been enjoying our beautiful South Florida weather all week. Unfortunately, I have been sick and haven't been able to do much with him. And Steve (poor guy!) had the week from you-know-where this week. So this morning we all decided it would be a great beach day. It was cloudy, but it's been that way a lot lately with absolutely no rain. So we gathered our beach towels, chairs and blanket; then we stopped and bought a rotisserie chicken and off we went to the beach. We even got a really great parking spot!
It was nice and cool - just a gentle breeze instead of the wild winds we've had all week. And the clouds were just right - no sunburn! We settled down with our chicken and our drinks and were just relaxing watching everyone have fun around us.
Suddenly the skies opened up and it started to rain. It was just a passing quick shower so we stayed. About 5 minutes later we got a tropical downpour that lasted about 15 minutes. We were absolutely SOAKED! And I hadn't even taken off my t-shirt or pants yet! Even the thick bedspread I brought with me wasn't protecting me from the wetness. Finally it let up enough that we grabbed our things and took off for the car. It rained and rained and rained. By the time we walked about a block to the car (including across the sand) I had rain pouring off my cap! Needless to say we were NOT happy campers! Worst of all, there was no way to get a picture without ruining my camera. Grrrr!!!
So, the guys are in the living room drinking their beers and drying off. I took a very long hot shower to make sure I don't get sick again and now I'm seeing what's happening in the cyber world. At least the weather's never bad here!

Oh, I love the rain but I know how that tropical rainstorm can be a pain in the butt!
Sorry your day at the beach was ruined. Don't you dare get sick again!
