June Sneak Peeks!

I know that the first of June is only 2 days away. Living in South Florida we are most definitely aware of that date since it's the beginning of hurricane season. However, my scrappy design teams at My Sketch World and Just Imagine/Kreaxions have been hard at work keeping my mind off nasty weather predictions!
June will bring only one sketch for layouts (and one sketch for cards) from Lucy at My Sketch World. But OH what a layout sketch it is!!! :) Here's a preview of my adorable Garrett layout for that sketch... Reveal will be Wednesday, June 1st.

June will also bring a lot of activity from Just Imagine/Kreaxions! I have the blog posts on Monday June 13 and again on Monday June 27. Here are the sneak peeks for those dates...
June 13 is a fun LO about my grandson Noah using Bev's fabulous sketch (which will be revealed Tuesday June 1st)...

And June 27 is a beautiful layout about my brother and his new wife celebrating at their reception. The sketch is by ME (which will also be revealed June 1st)...

And last but not least, save the dates of June 11 and 12 for the June 2011 Just Imagine/Kreaxions Blog Hop!!! The Design Team members have been hard at work putting a fabulous blog hop together for you! I can't WAIT to share this layout about Noah. Happy Memorial Day!

On this United States holiday I wanted to honor those members of the military and their families. My family and I are eternally grateful for the sacrifices that our military personnel and their families have given so that we can have freedom, liberty and justice. This is a card I made for the Just Imagine/Kreaxions blog post today.

On this card I used the Kreaxions Star Template to create my white cardstock background. I then used a very large Reminisce flag sticker and cut another star. Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #919 with Insert A gave me the shaped edge. I used a navy blue pen to outline the punched area and to outline the punched star template. Some pop dots give this card added dimension. I then used only part of Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #307 for the four corners of the card. The quote sticker, center sticker, title sticker and papers are all Reminisce products.

I Can Hardly Wait for June!!!!

I have SO MANY exciting things to share for June! I hope you've saved some scrappy time in your busy summer months because there's a LOT happening this summer!
First of all I'm hosting a recipe layout challenge on My Sketch World starting June 1st.
Second of all one of my very own sketches is being featured as a challenge on the Just Imagine/Kreaxions site for the month of June! How exciting is THAT?!
And third of all the Just Imagine/Kreaxions crew are hosting a BLOG HOP June 11 and 12!!! We have lots of fun things in store for you that weekend!
So start getting your supplies together and get your mojo ready because the summer's starting off with a bang in just a few days!

A Very Scrappy Weekend!

I don't have any obligations this weekend and I have a LOT of scrapping I want/need to do so it's SCRAPPY TIME! :)
Here's a layout I did last week for the Scrapdango Blog Hop challenge and a couple of other challenges on My Sketch World. I used a Becky Fleck sketch and a challenge to use my favorite scrappy things on a page. The picture is of my parents taking their first walk after a long winter.

And I did manage to finish these two layouts last night before the midnight deadline of the Scrapdango Blog Hop. I used another Becky Fleck sketch and pics of my husband and I picking strawberries in November last year. Gotta love a South Florida winter! :)

This one was posted with just minutes to spare! It's based on a layout by Ellen at Scrapdango.

I hope you enjoyed looking at these! I am hard at work on some Design Team projects for My Sketch World and Just Imagine/Kreaxions. There's lots of exciting challenges coming next month! I can't WAIT to share!

Marvelous Monday - Positives and Negatives

Today's my second of three Just Imagine/Kreaxions reveal days! On this Marvelous Monday I’ll be showcasing positives and negatives in my punches. I used Bev’s layout sketch with Butterfly Punch #604 and 4-in-1 Punch #307 on this project. The corners were punched with #307 using Insert C and the border was punched using Insert A. I used the Kreaxions Circle Cutter to create my circles.

The top butterfly border is the negatives. I used the punch and insert to measure between butterflies. (See photo below)

Then I used the positive butterflies on the bottom border in between the punched flowers. For my corners, I used the cut away pieces in the far corners of the layout to give it some definition. All of the papers except the cardstock are from the fabulous “For the Record” collection by Echo Park. For the Mother’s Day theme I used my new niece’s love of babies as my subject.
I combined this post with a My Sketch World National Scrapbooking Day challenge to use altered buttons on your layout. My buttons were clear and I painted them with Silver Alcohol Ink. Quick and easy alterations!

First Wedding Layout!

I used several challenges to create this first layout for my brother's wedding album. My Sketch World has extended their National Scrapbook Day Crop until midnight Tuesday night! Scrapdango has a blog hop going on to introduce their new design team. They have a challenge on each blog and the contest ends Friday night at midnight. And Your Scrapbook Stash.com is hosting a National Scrapbooking Day challenge this month with several sketches. I used the April 29th sketch to create this page...

Scrapdango Blog Hop!!!

Hi everyone! Life has sure thrown me some nasty curve balls lately. Things have been so crazy that I've hardly had time to scrap at all. :( I'm barely keeping up with the forums at My Sketch World, Scrapdango and the Just Imagine/Kreaxions blog these days. I'm missing my friends at all the other sites! I'm really hoping that things will calm down a bit now that we have our house to ourselves again. Three weeks of unexpected guests was a bit much! Work has been super crazy too. I had NO idea what I was getting myself into there! Anyway, enough of that and on to the good stuff.
I did manage to do some scrapping for National Scrapbook Day last weekend. I'll share soon but right now I want to post about Scrapdango's Blog Hop which starts Friday. They have a brand new design team and I'm excited about what they'll be revealing! Here's the details. Hope to see you there!

Just Imagine/Kreaxions May Challenge

Hellooooooooo out there in cyber land! I know you're out there. :) I am sorry I didn't post the Just Imagine/Kreaxions cards here yesterday or today. Life's been a bit crazy lately and I'm having a hard time keeping up with things. Hopefully after this weekend it will calm down a wee little bit at least.
Anyway, if you'll go to Monday's post on the Just Imagine/Kreaxions blog at http://justimaginecrafts.typepad.com you will see my cards. At the top of the blog you will see some new pages listed and one is the "challenge" page. That is where the current challenge for May is posted. There is one layout sketch and one card sketch by our wonderful Bev Code (Beecee Creations) along with the details. You have all month and you could win one of the AWESOME Kreaxions Circle Cutters AND your choice of a FABULOUS Kreaxions 4-in-1 punch! So GO FOR IT!!! :) We hope to see you there!
Meanwhile, here are the cards I created with some FUN Pink Paislee papers and my Kreaxions punches...
So the May challenge is to use one of the sketches, add a butterfly and have a Mother’s theme. I used the Kreaxions butterfly die and some beautiful Pink Paislee papers to create these Mother’s Day cards. The butterfly die worked great in my Cuttlebug with both embossed vellum and paper! And you can fold the butterfly in half and punch its wings for a fabulous effect! I used the sketch, the Kreaxions butterfly die and Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #916 and #307 (I just cut away the bottom part of the punch) for my first card but "tweaked" the sketch to make it work with my elements.

For my second card I punched the Butterfly die and cut it twice. Then I punched the top butterfly with Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #916 on the wings.

My third card is using the May 1st Card Sketch from My Sketch World and Kreaxions Punch #916 again...

May 1st Sketch Reveals!

It's time for the My Sketch World reveals! This month I was able to do both the layout AND the card sketches!
Here's the layout sketch -

And here's my version of it. These pictures were taken at my parents' 60th wedding anniversary party in January 2008. I used the AWESOME Kreaxions Circle Cutter and their positioning pieces with their 4-in-1 Punch #905 to create the circle background. I sprayed some white Prima flowers with black Glimmer Mist to match the (really) grey background. (My scanner doesn't like some colors...)

And here's the card sketch -

I used Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #916 on this card for Mother's Day. The "ribbon" is just a piece of paper threaded through a Stampin Up buckle.
