More Scrappy Fun! :)

I'm in the throes of several contests and challenges so if I've posted something on your blog, look for that title and scroll down. I'm still figuring out how all the links and things work! Sorry! :)
Not to go into any "gory details" but since Memorial Day 2012 my life has basically been turned upside down. With all the traveling I have had to do and the possibility of more to come for possibly extended periods of time, I am making the most of the "down" time that God has blessed me with and I've been a scrapping fool! Just since the first of February I've made 26 layout pages and 8 cards!!! It's truly been the therapy I need and I'm quite blessed to be able to take the time to do it. :)
So... here's my next few projects to share...
This one started with an email from Echo Park with the cutest card! I turned their instructions into the tag with the helicopter using their new "Scoot" line which I purchased from the My Scraps & More Store...

Ribbon Rosette and Swing Card

Today I'm sharing some technique fun! On both of the next two pages I used the MOST FABULOUS Kreaxions Circle Cutter to make my circles. The S.W.A.T. Blog has a tutorial on how to make a ribbon rosette. It was easy and fun! I used it on a page about my mother-in-law who is a cancer survivor. I used some REALLY old Close to My Heart papers for this page.

Next is a swing card. This was another VERY easy technique and it has so many different applications!!! I chose to make a fun birthday card using some of Echo Park's adorable "Scoot" line for one of my grandsons... I made it for the My Scraps & More "Love Is In the Air" crop.

And finally this page about my parents' love for each other. Every time Mom goes to visit at the nursing home they act like this. The picture was taken just before their 65th wedding anniversary! I had great fun with alcohol inks, Glimmer Mist and Stickles on the grungeboard swirls! Just spray, dab and Stickle!!!

Sketch #8 and More

Today I'm sharing Sketch #8 from My Sketch World's Sketch-a-Thon.

And here's my version of that sketch. It's a picture of my husband and I with our kids on our wedding day 22 years ago. I created the lacy mat by punching a 6x8 sheet of paper all around with Kreaxions 4-in-1 Punch #905 with Template A.

Materials – Glitter Paper – Best Creations; Cardstock – Unknown; Border Punch – Kreaxions #905 with Template A; Pen –Sharpie; All other materials – MAMBI
I'm also sharing a couple of other pages I did this week... The next page is for the monthly My Scraps & More challenge. This challenge was to use the word "FACE". "This is a great opportunity to scrap a close-up photo of someone...focus on their emotion or just how cute they are…" I mixed some My Mind’s Eye and Echo Park together to make this page about my youngest Grandson Garrett.

Materials – Orange Patterned Paper – My Mind’s Eye; Page Frame, Chipboard Elements, Stickers – Echo Park; Title Letters – Colorbok; Pen – Micron
This is a picture of my daughter and I on my wedding day 22 years ago and is for the My Scraps & More "Love is In the Air" Crop.
I used plain flowers and colored them with copper alcohol ink and 2 shades of Glimmer Mist and then added some Stickles. I covered chipboard letters with Stickles.

Paper Girls Challenge - Twine

I've been trying out new forums and blogs for challenges to get me started back into scrapping again. It's been WORKING! :)
The first page I'll share is from the Paper Girls Challenge Blog. Here's the link - Their challenge was to use twine. So I tied some twine around some brads on this two-pager about my family.

Valentines Day Cards!!!

It's time to send out packages of love (candy) to my grandkids. I have 4 of them - Molly will be 12 in May, Noah will be 9 next month, Robert is 3 and Garrett is 2. I enjoy spoiling them and since I totally missed Christmas with Molly and Robert, and because I just love celebrating Valentine's Day because it's my birthday, I started sending them packages a couple of years ago. So that means I need several Valentine's Day cards. This year I also need separate ones for my Mom & Dad because Dad's in the nursing home now. :(
Anyway, I used some sketches from the My Sketch World Sketch-A-Thon and lots of stash to create these 6 cards... S.W.A.T.

My friend Bev Code told me about this new blog called Scrapbook Warriors Advanced Training (SWAT). The challenge for February 2 is "All About You". I had a hard time finding pictures of me - I'm usually the one BEHIND the camera! But after searching my photo boxes I finally found these pictures from 1996. My daughter and I had gone for glamour shots. You'd never know I was VERY sick that day! And the brand new hairstylist took HOURS to do my hair! But the pictures turned out really well and my husband actually keeps one in his wallet!
Anyway, here's my S.W.A.T submission for the February 2 challenge...

I cut the flowers from another sheet of paper and the “frame” around the pictures are strips cut from a third sheet. Everything on this page is VERY old!
