I can FINALLY announce my good news!!!!!

First of all I have TWO cards that Just Imagine/Kreaxions accepted for make & takes for their demos!!!! WOOHOO! Here they are -
The first one uses Punch #902



And the second one uses Punch #913


But even better is that they've accepted me for another six month term on their design team!!!!! I just LOVE their punches and their circle cutter is the BEST EVER! Check out my layout on today's blog post at Just Imagine Crafts.

More February Fun!

February is almost over already! I can hardly believe we're almost into March! So I'm hurriedly finishing the challenges posted for February while I still have time. Here's one I created for the My Scraps & More American Idol Search Challenge. This challenge was by Sherri to do a page about a musical event. The journaling reads “One day at Noah’s school Garrett found the piano. He started playing it and did not want to stop! TOO cute!!” I used silver Alcohol Ink to edge the paper and the photo corners. Next is another My Scraps & More challenge. March will be a month of lifting layouts and recreating them with your own version. This was a pre-challenge by Bev to lift a layout by Audrey Kit. I chose pics of my grandson Noah watching funny cat videos with my DH and our friends Scottie and Karen last summer... I cut up a border sticker and changed a couple of words to make my title. I used crazy doodling all over the page to imitate the craziness of the videos and their laughter. The edges are cut with a Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and the corners are cut with Kreaxions Punch #906.

Next is a layout about my grandson Noah losing his first tooth a couple of years ago. My dear friend Angele sent me these wonderful themed paper and stickers when she was finished doing her own son's page. Thanks Angele!!! I did this page for a challenge by Jackie at Sisterhood of Scrap to do a white space page. I really struggle with that and this is about as much white space as I can handle! LOL!

And last but not least is a birthday card for my youngest brother whose birthday is tomorrow... I used a Lucy Chesna sketch for this one which is for a challenge by Lisa at My Scraps & More to use a song title for your card sentiment and use a few words from that song on your card. I used the Happy Birthday song!

I DID IT!

I finally did it! I finished all the My Sketch World Sketch-a-Thon sketches AND all the layout and card challenges! WOOHOO! I was able to combine a few with other challenges so here's what I created...
Up first is the February 13 Layout Sketch. The pic is of Molly and I on the merry go round at Sea World. I also combined it with the My Scraps & More Valentines Day challenge...


Next is the February 14 sketch. I used this sketch for Toni's challenge to use a card sketch for a layout... Here's the layout. It's my daughter and her best friend whom I love dearly too! :) I also used this for the My Scraps & More challenge to use a Barry Manilow song title for my title...

I cut the title with my Cricut using Cricut Classic Font; Hearts Cut with Cricut using George Font then embossed on Cuttlebug

And here's the card I made with the same sketch -


For this layout I used Lucy's February 15 sketch and the Week 3 American Idol Search challenge at My Scraps & More. The challenge was to use a pop/rap artist's name initials for your supplies. I used Bruno Mars. Here's what I created... The pic is Molly looking at comb jellyfish in an aquarium at Sea World.


Here's a card I made using Lucy's color challenge. LOVED these colors! The circle is made with Kreaxions Positioning Parts, Circle Cutter and Punch #310...

And last but not least is the card I made for Majo's challenge to make a spring card with your stamps!

More Sketch-A-Thon Fun

Even though Lucy posted the last sketch for My Sketch World's Sketch-a-Thon, there's still time to play and win! The deadline for this contest is Midnight on March 4!!! Hope you'll come and play! Anyway, here are my latest creations...

I'm still playing along at My Scraps & More's American Idol Search Contest. I'm stumped on the challenge by my fellow Guest Design Team Member Sherri to use a Barry Manilow title on one of my pages... Do you know how MANY there are??!! OMG! I think I have it narrowed down to a few that will fit my pics... Just need to figure out what I'm gonna do with it. LOL!
I'm having so much fun with all these challenges! They keep me going when my mojo runs low. And they give me incentive to try new things which I LOVE. :) So hope you'll join me in some of the fun! There's still plenty of time!

My Scraps & More Guest Designer Reveal!

As you know I was one of two lucky ladies to be selected for the February Guest Designer at My Scraps & More. The owner Tammi sent me a FABULOUS kit full of Cosmo Cricket's "Clementine" line. I had great fun with it as you can see! Here's what I created and I still have PLENTY of papers and stickers left over to create even MORE fun projects!!! First up is a fun two-pager about my brothers and I doing everyday life things in the 1950s and 1960s...

I cut part of the shapes out with an X-Acto knife and put them on top of a couple of the photos. I added Stickles (Ranger) and Thickers letters. Photo Corners are Canson; Ink – Colorbox; Pen – Sharpie

Next is another two-pager about a company picnic in the 1980s. My daughter is now 31 so this was awhile back but still fun pics to play with!

I used a Creative Memories Curvy Cutter to create the scallop borders. Title was cut with my Cricut using Cuttin’ Up font; Cardstock, Brads – Bazzill; Pens Sharpie, OmniGel; Ink –Colorbox

Next are the most fun projects I think I've ever done! You've seen the other two gift boxes I created for Valentines Day gifts. But THESE are the first ones I did! Here's the link to the tutorial by the AWESOME Bev Code... Gift Bag Tutorial



I used my Cricut to cut the heart and “I Love You” die cuts. Also on the “I Love You” I used the Cricut pens to outline first.

And last but not least is a layout about the present. This picture was taken this summer. It is my daughter (the same one as above) with her Dad's remaining cousins. What a special picture for her album!

I used the Kreaxions Circle Cutter to create the scallop border. All materials are Cosmo Cricket except for Cardstock – American Crafts; Chipboard Elements and Letters – Thickers; and Pen – Sharpie

A Couple of REALLY Good Ones!

I just LOVE it when a sketch turns into one of my favorite layouts! That happened with two different sketches by two different people this weekend! So of COURSE I had to share them right away! :)

First up is one using a sketch by Jackie Plank at Sisterhood of Scrap. I tweaked it just a wee bit and made this layout about Noah...

More Scrappy Goodness!

It was a long week and I didn't get to scrap as much as I would have liked to but I did get a few new projects completed. Here's more scrappy goodness! :)
First up is a very special page. This is one of only a few pictures of my DD and her father’s mom in 1981. I sprayed white cardstock with Glimmer Mist and created the circle and the border which is punched with two different Kreaxions punches. I also inked the edges of white photo corners to make them pop more. The sketch is Lucy's February 4th Sketch from the MSW Sketch-a-Thon. I also combined it with a recipe challenge from JackieP at Sisterhood of Scrap.

Next up is a SUPER fun page I created for the My Scraps & More American Idol Search contest. We had to use a sketch provided and a Lady Antebellum song title. The pic is of my husband and two of my grandsons at the beach last summer. It's one of my all time fav pics!!! I also combined this with another challenge from Sisterhood of Scrap.


I used the sketch but altered it just a bit. I also tried a new technique – using embossing powder with Crystal Lacquer. (I had run out of puffy stuff and cotton would have been too much so I thought I’d try it.) Other than melting my picture a bit (which makes it look more watery) it worked great! And I have the puffy effect I was looking for. I created the circle using a Kreaxions Circle Cutter, the Kreaxions Positioning Parts and Kreaxions Punch #310. I'll be showing how to make this punched circle on a future Kreaxions post.

And last but certainly not least is a SNEAK PEAK of what's to come on Monday!!! I FINALLY GET TO REVEAL the My Scraps & More Guest Designer projects I made!!! Here's a card I made with the leftovers from that kit... It's another of Lucy's FABULOUS sketches (February 9th). I also added in Karen's challenge to emboss something.
I used my Cricut to cut the heart and my Cuttlebug to emboss it. Then I went over it with some pearl Alcohol Ink and edged it with silver Alcohol Ink. The small heart and “Love” were from a RAK years ago. I just colored them with some Glimmer Mist and Alcohol Ink.

Challenges Baby!

I don't know about you but I LOVE scrappy challenges! And I LOVE to multi-task. This month there's lots happening and while I can't multi-task as much as I'd like to, I have still been able to combine a couple to make a couple of projects. Here's my latest creations...
My Sketch World is hosting their 6th Annual Sketch-A-Thon. Lucy's sketches are AMAZING and this card is based on her Feb 2 sketch. I also used Jan Tatomir's "3 Hearts" card challenge on MSW for this card.


This card is for Barb's Bling It Up challenge on MSW and for the Sisterhood of Scrap challenge to create a Christmas card every month... I used an older Lucy Chesna sketch for this one...


And last but not least is the My Scraps & More American Idol Contest where I'm Guest Designer this month along with Sherri Priest. This layout is my mini challenge for this week. This is my Week 1 American Idol layout based on the 80s band Bon Jovi. I used one Kreaxions punch and made a FUN 2-pager using LOTS of furry fibers to represent the big hairdos, and lots of gold (studs and braids), black (leather) and red (silk) to represent their clothes!
