More Scrappy Fun!

I've been having fun creating lately. Mostly it's been design team work for next month so I can't share. But I have created a few things that I CAN share! So here we go...
First up are two pre-challenges for the My Scraps & More American Idol Search contest next month. The first one is a music challenge by Lisa M to use music notes on your page somewhere. I chose to make a two-page layout and to use some Teresa Collins paper scraps I had left over...



Next is a recipe challenge from owner Tammi. But the recipe is a SECRET to everyone else! FUN!


And I made ANOTHER gift box that I can share for a total of FIVE! I TOLD you they were fun! Once again, here's the link to the tutoral and measurements sheet - My Sketch World - Gift Bag with Bev


Finally, I have been playing at Sisterhood of Scrap. It's a GREAT place for unusual challenges and fun conversation! Here's one of my creations for their Inventors themed challenges this month... The challenge was to use two of something twice in honor of the Doublemint gum invention. I also used a sketch challenge from My Scraps & More. The pic is my grandmother, my mom, my daughter and myself in 1981 and is a picture of a picture because the original is stuck to the glass of the frame. :(

Toot and Something to Share

I checked my emails today and found a nice surprise! Momenta had a survey the other day and if you answered you got entered to win a $50 gift certificate. I did the survey and I WON!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! So I get to go on a shopping spree! :) How FUN!

I also wanted to share something that I made. My dear friend Bev Code (BeeCee Creativity) does tutorials for My Sketch World and this month's was a cute gift box. Now usually I'm not able to figure these things out easily but this one only took 2 tries before I got it right! I actually made 4 but one is for a DT project next month and the other two I haven't decorated yet. Couldn't wait to share this though! Here's my version -

This is the layout I posted this past Tuesday. It was a kit I bought from my local scrapbook store Everything Scrapbook in Lake Worth Florida. I felt it needed a little more so I added the snowflake punches at the top border! I had GREAT fun with this two-pager!

So the next time you have a kit and you feel like it needs just a little bit more, pull out your punches and see if maybe one will work! This was just that little extra touch this layout needed. :)

January My Sketch World & Scrappin Chics Reveals

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!! I cannot BELIEVE it's 2012 already! It seems like just a couple of years ago we were worried about Y2K and here we are 12 years later without a glitch! Amazing how fast time flies!
And speaking of time flying, how about your only child turning 30!!! Honestly, it was quite a shock to me thinking about how she had been so little just a short time before and now she's mom to two FABULOUS boys! Before I know it THEY will be all grown up and I'll wonder where THAT time went too! LOL!
So in honor of my daughter's birthday, using the Scrappin Chics Challenge Blog theme of "Favorite Family Memory" and using Lucy Chesna's FABULOUS My Sketch World January layout sketch, I created this layout... First the sketch -

And here's my version of it...

Materials – Sketch – Lucy Chesna; Die Cut – My Mind’s Eye; Papers – Bo Bunny; Ric Rack – Wright’s; Flowers – Prima; Number Stickers – Cloud 9 Designs; Letter Stickers – Stanislaus Designs; Ink – Colorbox; Rhinestones – Recollections; Punches – Kreaxions #603 Lotus (Flower), #602 (Leaf) and #310 with Template A for border; Pen - Sharpie
I punched the flowers with Kreaxions #603 Lotus, inked them, used a pop dot and a rhinestone and put them on inked Prima flowers. I outlined the punched leaf (Kreaxions #602 Leaf) with a pen and then glued them on as a stem. The border is punched with Kreaxions #310 and Template A then I outlined the border with a pen. Simple and easy but the effect is fabulous! (You can find all of the awesome Kreaxions products in the Just Imagine Crafts store.)
