Just Checking In to Say Hi

Sorry it's been so long since I posted. March has been quite busy for me. I'm in the middle of a two week visit with my friend Trish over on the other side of the state right now. She's the one who was in the hospital/rehab for over a year. Her husband is a traveling minister and since she got sick 11 years ago he hasn't left the state to minister. He felt like he really needed to get back into the ministry and traveling and accepted an invitation to Abbotsford, British Columbia near Vancouver in Canada. Steve and I decided that since we couldn't go with Elias that I would go over to Naples and stay with Trish. I'll be here until March 23rd. We are having fun together and the dog Sammo has finally accepted me as part of the family. :) YAY!
Meanwhile, my grandson Noah has celebrated his 6th birthday! My daughter Michele has discovered that one of their 3 cats is pregnant (must be in the water at their house!), and she had her second sonogram but she's not far enough along to see what we're having yet. Drat! :)
Both of my brothers had to be rushed to the ER last weekend too at different times for different things. Both are home now and doing fine, but it was quite a scare!!!
Otherwise, things are very good. I miss my Baxter and my husband but will be home soon. And I'm trying to use this time to catch up on gallery praise, forums, blogs, etc.

The Final Sketch-a-Thon Projects

It's sad to say that the MSW February Sketch-a-Thon is over tonight. :( Lucy's sketches are SOOOOOOOOO awesome!!! I was able to combine Couture's challenge to use something you printed yourself on your computer. In this case it is my journaling that is printed on a transparency that I painted on the back side so you can read it better. Here are two more LOs using CARD sketches for layouts!!!
First is a layout about family in the kitchen at my parents' house. It's always a gathering place when we get together!

And next is a picture of my future niece with my dog Baxter. I just LOVE how this one turned out!

Couture Cardstock ROCKS!!!

Sometimes you just run across something that really hits you and the next thing you know you're off and running. Well, that has been the case with me and Couture Cardstock's National Craft Month Challenge. There's a different challenge each day in March and you can win some awesome cardstock! Which is good cuz I don't have any CC cardstock in my stash! :( I love a good challenge with a fabulous prize, so here we go. I missed yesterday's because I didn't know about the challenge. And I probably won't be able to do every day this month as I'll be taking care of a bedridden friend for a couple of weeks while her husband's out of town. But I'm gonna give it the old college try! And here's my first one... The challenge was to "Use an edge punch to add detail to one of your pages!" Now I hope a card counts cuz I needed a card for my cousin Penny's husband who's in the hospital right now. Soooo I created this...

And because that got me in the card-making mood and I needed to complete another challenge, I made this one for the "Think Spring" card challenge by Cheryl on the MSW site... It's for a friend that is REALLY going through a rough time right now and needs some encouragement. :) Everything is a stamp and I had great fun! :)

What a Busy Month!

I knew that I'd been busy with challenges in February but I really didn't understand HOW busy until I created the slideshow on the right sidebar! I've created nearly 100 projects already this year! WOW! Between the Scrapdango Crowned competition and the My Sketch World Sketch-a-Thon plus a couple of others, it was hard to keep up. And I was unable to complete my third SD Crowned LO in time. :( However, I did manage to keep up with the Sketch-a-Thon and even did a few bonuses! We have till March 3rd to finish so I may just do a few more bonuses.
And I also created 10 pages on Saturday at a midnight crop at Scrapbook Place! So since all but one of those were just fun things and not for challenges, I'll share a few of them here. But if you want to see the rest and all my other creations so far this year just check out the sidebar. I also altered the other slideshow and put in just my 100 fav projects from 2009. The sign of a truly addicted scrapbooker I'm sure! :)
