Hehe! Well I AM! :) This coming Saturday, May 1st, is NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY! Several stores, forums and online sites are hosting crops in celebration. And Scrapdango is one of those forums! I'm so very excited because as a new DT I've been in on the behind-the-scenes planning. I feel like a little school girl right now! Hehe! I will be hosting two challenges - a Creativity Jar challenge and a 100 Items Challenge - and two games - Bingo on Saturday night and a countdown game on Sunday! The other DT members are also hosting challenges and games so it will be lots and lots of fun for everyone! And the more the merrier! So please c'mon over and join me in the celebrations! Very Scrappy Times!
I haven't posted in a few days because I've been busy! My Sketch World (link is in my favs) has been having a Spring Fling Crop all week. There's so many challenges that I could never do them all but I'm doing as many as I can. You can see all my latest work in the bottom slideshow. It amazes me that I've already done enough pages/projects to have over 100 images so far this year! But I've done a couple of mini-albums so that helped a bit. Hehe! Anyway, I'm having fun and scrapping away!
I'm REALLY looking forward to Scrapdango's National Scrapbooking Day crop May 2-3 as well! I have the honor of being on their Design Team and I'll be hosting a couple of challenges as well as a game or two during the weekend. You'll have all week to post your goodies too! It's going to be SOOOOOOO much fun!
I'm having fun oogling and playing with my DT kit this month too. I'll give you a hint. This month Carrie sent me the Spice Kit. It's a sports theme but you can use it for SOOOOO many other things! Reveal will be May 15 so be on the lookout!
Meanwhile, Steve has purchased a very old bike. He got it for $25!!! It's the old style too with the fat wheels and normal brakes! He and Baxter have had great fun going very fast around the block a couple of times. Baxter's so smart that he's almost got it figured out with just two trips! Soon I'm sure they'll be going for very long rides together! I'll be trying my hand at riding too soon. I bought me some Keds tennis shoes today because I don't think flip-flops and bikes mix too well. In fact, I seem to remember getting two broken toes at two different times from wearing flip-flops when I was a kid! Soooooo... It ought to be interesting as I haven't been on a bike in over 20 years. Hehe! Maybe I should have Steve pull out the camera and get some close ups of my face! Haha! At least HE'D be taking the pics of ME for once! ROFL! Hopefully that old adage will be true... Otherwise, I hope I don't hurt myself re-learning! :)

Scrapdango's Celebrating National Scrapbooking Day!!!
Come join us for National Scrapbook Day at Scrapdango on May 1st and 2nd. There will be early bird challenges starting on Friday and games throughout the day on Saturday. One winner will be getting a fabulous monthly kit from Scrapdango. There will be some smaller raks along the way as well.

IT'S SCRAPPY TIME!!!! WOOHOO!!!
Yes, my dear friends, it's time to spend every waking moment scrapping! You know I love that! Hehe! First, it's a midnight crop at the local store in Boca Raton. My BFF Shelley is celebrating a birthday tomorrow and for her present I'm going to join her. We haven't been together at all for about 3 months (even tho we live very close and talk on the phone almost every day)! So it will be fun to be together and be our silly selves! Then tomorrow morning starts the SPRING FLING at My Sketch World's forum!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! I've already done a pre-crop challenge where we had one hour to see a posted sketch, make a layout using that sketch and then post it! It was quite the challenge and TONS of fun!!! My Scrappy Environment
Michele on Scrapdango had the blog challenge for this week. This is her challenge: "My challenge to you is to describe your "scrapping" environment. Do you have music playing when you scrap? If so, what kind of music keeps your mojo going? Do you have natural lighting coming into your craft studio? Or do you have what I have...that awful fluorescent lighting? Are you off limits when you're scrapping? Or is your family allowed to come and go as they please? Do you put product and tools away as you progress with a page? Or do you let everything stockpile and put it away when mission complete?"
I am blessed with an entire room for my scrappy environment. I do have the computer and the file cabinets and the fax machine in there for DH's business. However, it's mostly a scrappy room. I'm also blessed with two windows as it's on the corner of the house so I have lots and lots of natural light. I have two 6 foot plastic tables, a piano, a bookshelf that DH built for me and a desk with one wall taken up by a closet. We took the doors off so I would have more room. We painted it a light yellow which also helps the sunny feeling of a South Florida house! AND I was blessed with a brand new leather chair last week! I'd had the old chair for many years and it was well used before it was given to me. Steve couldn't stand it anymore so he bought me a new one. Funny how my back doesn't hurt anymore! Hmmmm... :)
Music, well that's something new in my room. Until I found www.pandora.com (thanks to our accountant!) I didn't normally listen to music while I scrapped. My radio doesn't pick up my fav station very well and I hated all the "talk" and ads. Now I choose my own songs and just let the computer play them for me. My fav bands are Third Day, Mercy Me, Casting Crowns and Aaron Shust. I love praising the Lord and have found my projects are MUCH better when I am listening!
Since it's just Steve, Baxter (the dog) and I my scrappy time is usually alone time. However, every 20 minutes or so Baxter will come in and want to be petted. And Steve will holler at me about something or come peek at what I'm doing. I always show him my work when I'm finished and he always tells me what he thinks. Sometimes he's a bit puzzled by the artistic bend, but that's okay. :)
As for my scrappy process, I definitely have to put things away in between projects. Otherwise you'd never see the room! Hehe! I do have little piles of things here and there - like the pile of stuff bonus things to give me extra points for Scrapdango's Use Your Stash Challenge. And the pile of "to dos" on my desk that have been sitting there all week. (blushing here!) But what a mess it is while I'm working! Especially if it's a project like a mini album or themed album. :)
And right now I'm getting ready for a full weekend of scrapbooking!!! My BFF Shelley and I are going to a midnight crop at Scrapbook Place in Boca on Friday. Then starting tomorrow afternoon and going throughout the entire weekend is the My Sketch World Spring Fling online crop! YIPPEE!!! Thankfully Steve's fiberglass supplies for the boat are scheduled to arrive on Friday so he'll be busy boat building! We'll both be happily doing our things and connecting every so often.
Happy Scrapping and join me in the online crop! It'll be TONS of FUN!!!

MORE GOOD NEWS!!!!
I was just calmly reading my emails on Saturday night when I suddenly realized that the email I'd just opened had accepted not one but TWO of my layouts for publication!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so surprised that according to Steve I screamed and "scared the bejeebers" out of him! Here is what I read:

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?! SNR is Scrapbook News and Review and is an online magazine that is really up and coming in the scrappy world. This is like getting a small Academy Award as one lady put it once about being published. It's quite the feather in the cap and looks good on the scrappy resume! I'll post a link to the magazine when it is avaialble. :) Meanwhile, here's their website http://www.scrapbooknewsandreview.com/joomla44/.

A VERY HAPPY EASTER TO YOU!
On this wonderful Easter Sunday I reflect on the awesome sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us, his children. It amazes me that the Son of God came down and allowed us to treat him so terribly and yet still became the sacrificial lamb and atoned for our sins! Thank You so very, very much Jesus! I love you!
For those of you who celebrate Passover, I hope it was a wonderful one for you! That is another amazing thing to me how God protected His very own with the blood of the lamb. I love you too God!
We don't have any of the grandkids here with us today and won't be doing anything special for this holiday. But I will enjoy hopping over to your blogs and seeing your pics of your celebrations this holiday. Have a WONDERFUL time!

These decisions are made with so many different factors being considered. We have a few new faces to add to our Design Team and we have a few designers that will be staying on with us also. I want to say first that I really enjoyed our last Design Team! What a wonderful team and they did some great work and was an enjoyable group of ladies to work with. I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!! For those of you who are not scrapbookers, what does this mean? It means that I have been asked to design layouts, cards and projects with a kit provided by Scrapdango. I will also be designing sketches which will be posted on the forum for other scrapbookers to use to design their own layouts and projects! This is a BIG feather in my scrappy cap and I can hardly wait to get started! It's my first time on a design team and I can still hardly believe it!
Congrats to all the other ladies on the team as well! I'm really looking forward to working with all of you!
Here's the layout I created based on the provided sketch for the design team contest. The picture is of one of my Mom's crocus flowers in her garden that I took when I was up there in March. I just LOVE this picture!

There's a Genius in the Family!
It's official! My granddaughter, Molly, who will be 8 next month is officially an "over the top" genius! This is according to the person who does the testing for Polk County, Florida. He told her parents that he's NEVER seen anyone with this high a level at ANY school age. She's officially between 145 and 150 with 160 being the highest score on the range.
It's not surprising to me. This is the girl who at the age of FOUR got on Google Earth without an address and found her grandmother's house over an hour's drive away! Turns out that all her little personality quirks that we were all so worried about are normal due to the high IQ. She's just that much smarter than all the rest of us!
So, congrats to Jeff, Julie and Molly! We're very proud of you Molly!
