First of all I would like to thank Paper House Productions for the prize package they sent me!!!  OMG what an AWESOME package of goodies!  I won their blog hop a few weeks ago.  Well worth the time it took to go to about 10 blogs!  I've made so many pages already, shared some with a friend (paying it forward) and STILL have plenty leftover!  So here's my layout using some of the Paper House Productions products I received in that package... 

This is my Mother-In-Law with her family.  She’s the one in the middle in the front row.  I loosely interpreted a sketch by Jennifer Hagerty at My Scraps & More.  My punches are Kreaxions #604 (Butterflies), Kreaxions #901 for the Butterfly Border and Kreaxions #921 for the Flower Border and with Template C on the corners of the photo mat.  All of these punches can be purchased at the Just Imagine Crafts Store...

Just Imagine/Kreaxions Design Team Reveal!!!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made using Kreaxions Punch #921 with Template C for the corners and Template A around the rest of the card, then I colored in the cutaway spots with a gold pen. I added gold elements and outlined everything with a gold pen. Simple and easy yet BEAUTIFUL!!!



Materials – Card Base – Recollections; Patterned Paper, Gold Stickers – Pink Paislee; Glittery Flower Stickers – Reminisce; Ribbon – Offray; Pen – Omni Gel; Ink – Colorbox

Turtle Soup April Mini Crop Starts Today!

Hello there!  I have a challenge starting today on the Turtle Soup Forum for the April Mini Crop that I wanted to share here.  My challenge to you is to create a page using patterned paper ONLY.  You can use cardstock as your background, but all other papers need to be patterned.  

Here's my example  I did a 2 pager about my Grandsons Noah and Garrett playing in a play place a couple of years ago.  The only cardstock on these two pages is the background.

It's time for another Turtle Soup Design Team Sketch Reveal!!! I just LOVED this sketch by Bev Code...



This is a picture of my Dad on February 17, 2003 shoveling snow in front of their house. That’s a LOT of snow for that area! I punched borders and put the main pieces together in the middle then used the cutaway pieces on the outer edges. Then I added cutaway snowflakes on the wrong side of the paper to cover the “seam”. There’s small fibers threaded through both of the borders.

And how about some eye candy today... I have a 4 year old grandson named Garrett who is quite the character as you'll see in the following 3 layouts. When he was born he immediately had a temper tantrum because he LIKED it in there! :) And from the time he was able to roll over they've called him "Danger Baby"! He has never had much fear and he's always into something... He's also almost as tall as his 11 year old brother! So here's a few layouts that show his individual personality...


One of my daughter's friends “tattoo’d” Garrett and he loved it! This was for a scraplift challenge at the Turtle Soup Forum. I used Dria’s LO as my inspiration and October Afternoon and Echo Park papers to create this LO. I added fun bling and elements to draw the eye to the picture.

Today I have a card to share for the Just Imagine/Kreaxions Blog.  I've seen so many cards where  someone has layered punched borders and I just LOVE the look but for some reason I was never successful in making it look right - until I made this card!!!  Putting the little bit of space in between was just what I needed to do!I have a friend who’s going through some serious health issues that’s been ongoing for over a year and I wanted to cheer her up a bit. So I found some scraps and a couple of fun punches and had some fun.

Then I used some of the cut-away pieces on the inside...

And now for today's reveal...  Bev Code is our fabulous Design Team leader and is one of the BEST sketch artists I've ever seen!  I just LOVE playing with her sketches!  The one below was so pretty I just wanted to print it!  But then I thought I'd do something different.....  Here's Bev's sketch:

From the sketch I used the large element and doubled it.  I also used the 2 pictures as a border which I moved to the bottom.  So even though this page doesn’t look exactly like the sketch, all the elements are there… Here's my version...

I wish this picture were better because it’s so funny! My Grandson Garrett decided to style his hair with hand lotion! He’s so individual and crazy that the monster theme was perfect for this picture! I used the arrow and word stickers to try to bring focus to his face and hair… I've had these monster stickers for YEARS!  I always knew with boys in the family that someday I'd find a good use for them!

I hope you're enjoying the Turtle Soup blog!!!  I just LOVE hanging out at the Turtle Soup Forum and it's quite an honor to be on the Design Team there!  If you're not already a member I hope you'll come join us for some fabulous inspiration and great fun!

I know that a lot of you up north are still waiting for Spring to arrive so hopefully this blog hop and my card will help you remember that it's still coming!!! 

I used the Kreaxions Butterfly Punch #604, Border Punch #311 (both purchased at the Just Imagine/Krafts Store), Flower Die–Verona Bouquet by Memory Box, Butterfly Die–Delaney Butterfly by Poppy Stamps;  Card Base, Pearls–Recollections; Bling–Bling It; Pens–Omni Gel, Sakura Gel Roll

Here's a close up of the top half of the card...

I used my Cuttlebug to cut the die pieces by cutting two butterfly dies from different patterned papers and laying one on top of the other to give it some dimension. I punched 8 butterflies (4 from each patterned paper) and alternated one on top of the other but only attached them in the centers and folded up the top punch pieces.  Then I die cut the flowers and added some bling and pen work to enhance them. Everything is outlined with a silver pen and I added some pearls too. I layered the bottom border with leftover cutaway pieces.
