Today's the Day!!

It's finally here! We get to meet oldest stepson's Significant Other (Kristin) tonight. We get to visit with Greg and Molly and Kristin. Then we come home and crash for the night. I have no clue what Steve's plans for the rest of the weekend are, but for me... Well what ELSE on National Scrapbooking Day?! Hehe! I practiced some yesterday trying to calm my nerves and excitement... Here's what I created...
I have been to the National Air & Space Museum (NASM) in DC several times. They have this awesome IMAX movie there and each time something happened and I missed it. So last Christmas when we went to the NASM at Dulles Airport I was super excited because that was my number 1 priority. But alas, it was not to be again. It was New Year's Day, the projector was broken and they couldn't get a technician out to fix it that day. :( So instead I made a page about the brochure and my sad story. :(


And this is a two pager about Steve, Noah and Baxter being boys and rough-housing at my Mom and Dad's house last Christmas. I LOVE these papers! They're from an old Scrapdango kit featuring Dream Street.

National Scrapbooking Day!!!!

It's the most important day in the scrappy world. The first Saturday in May. And it's coming up THIS WEEKEND!!!!! I don't know of ANY scrappy site that's not doing some sort of celebration. I Scrapped Yesterday...

I am still trying to finish scrapping my Christmas trip pictures. Wonder if I can get them finished by Friday when we will be taking more family pics... Get to meet Greg's girlfriend finally! And have dinner with them and with Molly! :) Anyway, here's some more Air & Space Museum pages...
This is the plane that used to bring Steve and his family from the airport to the island Ketchikan's located on... Today the airport's just across the Inside Passage and you take a ferry... But for young boys this was quite an adventure!

I DID IT!!!

I finished ALL of the New Beginnings Crop challenges at Scrapdango and ALL of the challenges on MSW for the month of April!!! Plus I did a few Ch{all}enge Masters and Simply Scrapping challenges just cuz... ;) So here's the last challenge creations for the month...

More Scrappy Goodness!

I've continued on my scrappy streak! :) I only have a couple more challenges to complete and then I'm done with challenges for the month of April... Then I get to prepare for May which is going to be FULL of MORE scrappy challenges with National Scrapbooking Day celebrations going on! Gotta love it! :) Anyway, here's what I've created in the past few days...

I lost touch with her when I moved to Alaska and I've often wondered what ever happened to her... Wish I could remember her last name so I could search for her! :(

A Very Scrappy Weekend!

As you know Scrapdango was having the New Beginnings Crop this weekend. And Lucy at My Sketch World had an impromptu Weekend Challenge as well. So it was a very scrappy weekend for me! Thankfully the Scrapdango challenges aren't due till midnight Sunday cuz I didn't quite get them all done - only 3 more left! :) But here's what I created this weekend...

Deadlies Catch is Back!!!

Maybe it's because Steve was a commercial salmon fisherman when I met him and for several years after we married. Maybe it's because my youngest stepson is currently a commercial fisherman. Maybe it's just the cool music and knowing that this is truly REALITY TV. Maybe it's the neat guys like Captain Phil (whom we will all miss terribly) and the Hillstrand brothers or the guys on the Northwestern. I really don't know. But I absolutely LOVE the Deadliest Catch shows! This season is especially bittersweet because Captain Phil died in the middle of the season. And the father of the "greenhorn" Jake on the Northwestern has been missing for several months. So I've been especially looking forward to the new shows. And they start TONIGHT! So in honor of the return of Deadliest Catch and in honor of ALL those brave men and women who fish any sea in any country in this entire world, I'm sharing this picture of me helping Steve on his boat the F/V Volunteer. Yep. I can truly say I was an Alaska Fisherwoman for one season! And here's the proof!

We have kittens!!!

They were just hours old in this picture. Noah's cat "Zebra" had four babies today - 1 B&W, 1 grey and 2 solid black! I'm a kitty great grandma! Hehe!

New Beginnings Crop at Scrapdango this Week!

Hey everybody! I know I posted about this before, but it seems that with all new business ventures there is always something that goes wrong. For Heather it's that the ISP for Scrapdango didn't renew things properly and now the .net address is being used by a scrap auto company! But never fear! The crop is still on! There are still a few issues being worked out, bit if you go to and click on the "Forums and Gallery" section you will get right into the area with the challenges.
Unfortunately at this point they still don't have the gallery working so you may have to use Photobucket, Flickr or some other gallery to post links to your creations... But that's okay! You can DO it! :)

Another Easter Layout

I finally finished this one. It's the story of how Michele saw "The REAL Easter Bunny" once and how she begged me to get a picture of him. So I got creative and drew a picture saying that you can't take pictures of the Easter Bunny. LOL! Anyway, these were fun pics to go with a cute story. I think I'm finally done with Michele's Easter pictures now!

I was busy in my scrappy room when Steve asked me to bring the camera. These pictures are PRICELESS! Especially since this is a daily occurrence... The last one is my FAVORITE!!!

Easter LOs and a New Screened-In Patio!

I spent Easter weekend scrapping old Easter pictures while Steve spent the weekend screening in our patio! It took me 9 years to finally get a screened-in patio which is an essential thing in Florida, but I guess better late than never huh? Anyway, here's what we both created this weekend...
First is the My Sketch World 1 Hour Sketch Challenge creation I made Friday night -

Next is a two pager using the February Scrapdango Spice kit and a Close to My Heart Cherish book sketch...


And finally a fun two-pager with lots of stamped images that I cut out (all the flowers and eggs!) -


And last but certainly not least are the screened patio pics! Our slab is cracking and needs to have a new thin set of concrete poured over it, but for now this is better than nothing! :) We are going to clean it up, caulk the cracks and paint it and the walls soon but we had a wonderful Easter dinner out there last night! We also planted a few things around the edges to keep Baxter from going through the screen. It'll take awhile for them to fill in... And I'm thinking it might just be a fun place to scrap once in awhile! ;) Thanks Honey Bunny!

Reveal Day!

I have a few layouts to share today... First is the April 1st My Sketch World sketch by Lucy Chesna. I just ADORE her sketches!!! This is my BFF Shelley and my friend Bev (some of you may know her as beecee) at the Lake Worth store in January. Bev was showing Shelley how to make her own flowers. There's a left side to this but that will have to wait until the April 15 reveal! ;)

The next two are examples for a challenge I'm hosting on My Sketch World. The challenge is to do a non-traditional Easter/Spring layout. Both of these are of my daughter in the 1980s...


Next is a layout I did just before leaving for Naples. Scrapdango had a Layout Tag where a group of us signed up and one-by-one we received an email with a layout created by the person in front of us. It's amazing to see the progressions! Here's my version. It's my daughter and her boyfriend last Christmas at the Air & Space Museum...

And finally, my favorite this week! I'd won a past kit from Scrapdango and had been eyeing this one featuring Dream Street Papers. I was cleaning off my desk and this picture and the papers ended up next to each other! Then I opened the kit and there was this FABULOUS LO by Carrie Leavitt. So I totally CASEd (Copy and Scrap Everything) it and came up with this one of Steve and Noah feeding the turtles at a pond...
