Pediactric Emergency Room

Yep. You read it right. My last day of the trip, Michele's last day with her grandparents and we have to take Noah to the Emergency Room. The poor little guy was running a VERY high fever and throwing up all night so we took him to the emergency clinic. The doctor listened to his lungs and saw his pulse was over 100 and said "I think he's got pneumonia and needs a chest x-ray. You're going to have to take him to the emergency room. We both just groaned and said okay.
Then as we arrived in the parking lot the trauma helicopter was taking off. I did not zoom or anything with these pictures! Noah was fascinated! He had his hands over his ears because it went right over top of us! We also said prayers for whomever it was transporting.

We got to the dr's office at 11:15 and didn't get home until after 5:00. Thankfully there was a TV in the room for him and he watched Chowder cartoons all day. Turns out that our poor little guy had a little bit of viral pneumonia and was having an asthma attack. We didn't realize he was having the asthma attack because it came on so slowly and wasn't a full-on attack. I took this picture while we were there.

Thankfully he's okay and will be back at his beloved school tomorrow. But it was really touch and go there for awhile. And tomorrow my brother and I will be leaving for our long drive from Virginia to Florida. More later...

Omg! I have so been there with my little guy. It doesn't make it any easier when you get vip treatment because you're married to one of the docs either. It has been a crazy year for pneumonia, I have heard of way too many kids getting it this year. Give him an extra big hug! Be careful on your long drive too!
