GLORY TO GOD!!!!!! TRISH is finally HOME!!!!!

Anyone who has known me or followed this blog for more than a year will probably remember an extremely urgent prayer request for my dear friend Trish. She had some very dire health issues about 11 years ago and nearly died. Doctors really botched things up big time in that process and it's been a long, hard road for Trish ever since. Well, about 1 1/2 years ago Trish and her husband Elias and their little dog Sammo moved from the east coast of Florida to the Naples area to help start a church over there. Everyone was quite excited and Steve and I actually seriously considered moving over there as well. But within a month Trish's health was once again dire and she ended up being rushed to the hospital. Once again Trish nearly died! I spent two weeks over there staying with a mutual friend and visiting Trish in the hospital. It was a tough time for everyone. Meanwhile her husband Elias and the other church members continued their work and the bi-lingual church is now thriving and doing well.
Trish spent a full month in the hospital and was then moved to a long-term rehab facility. She'd had to have surgery for a wound that had started inside her body and worked its way out. It was quite deep and needed to be hooked up to this vacuum machine to keep it cleaned out. She spent an entire YEAR in this place! Poor thing couldn't get up and move around because of the location of the wound and so she's been laying there watching TV and not being able to walk or get outside all this time.
Steve and I have gone over several times to visit her and attend the church there. It's such a sweet congregation and we love them all. The last time we went to visit Trish we even brought Baxter who totally adored her! He brought great comedy into the room and made Trish laugh a lot so it was lots of fun for all of us.
Well, we just got official word that FINALLY after FOURTEEN MONTHS of being bedridden and in the hospital TRISH IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are SOOOOO excited! After nearly losing her several times this is the miracle we all prayed and were waiting for! She still has some minor procedures to go through now that she's healthy enough to deal with them...
Now Elias and Trish are beginning that settling down period of figuring out what works and doesn't work in their routines. We pray that they will have an easy transition and that the future procedures will go smoothly and quickly so she can come straight back home again and once again be completely healthy!
For those of you who have prayed for Trish and Elias in the past, we would all like to thank you! We are SOOOOOOOO excited for Elias and Trish's future! I just HAD to share the great news! God is ALWAYS good - even if it sometimes takes awhile for it to show. :)
