Rainy Day Blues

It's rained here all day. Not that we don't need it cuz it's been a pretty dry rainy season. And at least it picked a good day for it since Steve and I have felt icky all day. He's been sick for two weeks now and I have been fighting it. Today I just haven't had any energy and have spent most of the day sleeping. Saturday TV fare is pretty bad! :) I've missed participating in the National Card Day challenges on Scrapdango today too. But the contest doesn't end until midnight tomorrow night so maybe I can get a few done. I'm card-making-challenged you know. :)
So to be somewhat productive today I decided to do the Scrapdango Blog Challenge for the week. It's a journaling challenge. Here it is:
"I would like you to finish one of the following sentences and explain why:
The one thing in I did or learnt in High School that I wish I continued with was...........?
The one person I wish I stayed in contact with through the years is.......?"

The one thing that I did in High School that I wish that I'd continued with is my piano playing. I used to be VERY good. I could play the original score for "Dr. Zhivago" (my mom's favorite song) by heart. I could pick up any piece of music and figure it out and actually read the music. But instead I got interested in other things and let it drop. Now I have lost most of that ability. I can still kind of play, but my timing's off and I really can't read music that well anymore. Still, if you give me the chords and I kind of know the song I can pick it out and play it. I could probably remember a lot more if I just sat down and practiced, but my wrists and arms aren't as strong as they used to be. Zoe used to hate me playing too. I think it hurt her ears. Now that she's gone, maybe I will play more often. I really should, shouldn't I? :)
As for the one person I wish I'd stayed in contact with, my friend Lynn and I share Christmas cards every year. We met in 7th grade when I asked her if she wanted a kitten and were instant friends. My cat had just had a litter and we were trying to give them away. Lynn was one of the best friends I've ever had in my life! Ironically, she called me the other day just after Zoe died. I haven't called her back yet, but I will. Maybe we'll pick up that friendship after all! :)

Great journaling!! It's so cool that Lynn called you up like that. I love that you used to play the piano. I never played any musical instruments after elementary school.

Love your answers to the blog challenge. Sorry about feeling icky and the rain. The sun will come out tomorrow...(or someday soon). Love your blog header too.
