First Day of 1st Grade!!!
How in the world did Noah get old enough to enter 1st grade???!!! Where oh where did the time go?! They grow up SO fast! And so this morning my grandbaby left for his first day of 1st grade. But the most beautiful thing is that God allowed me to be here for this very important day. He was so cute and so nervous! "How can I do math for a whole hour a day when I don't know how to do math?" was his constant question during the weekend. And he was quite worried that he wouldn't be able to eat lunch either. I mean it's a big change to go from half days of kindergarten in the afternoon to having to get up early in the morning and not return till late in the afternoon! It will be interesting to hear how his day went when he gets home. :) Meanwhile, he was gracious enough to pose for a couple of pictures and even asked for a family picture with his mom and Brett. Awwww how sweet! My baby's growing up!
They do grow up so very fast. My youngest granddaughter started school yesterday too and she was too excited to eat breakfast. So excited my DD had to help her dress even.
I'm a stay-at-home grandmother with five grandchildren, a daughter, three stepsons, a husband, a dog and a cat. I love Jesus, scrapbooking and the beach. In June of 2016 my husband and I retired and moved from South Florida back to Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska! We're building a small homestead on 3 acres of beachfront property. It's quite a life change, but we are loving the new quiet lifestyle!
On October 14, 2013 my mother died from cancer. She was 84 years old and had been happily married to my Dad for over 65 years! This is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them before Daddy fell and broke his hip. He spent almost 4 years in rehab and a nursing home. He died January 30, 2015 from heart disease and dementia complications. I already miss them both VERY much. But I know they're in Heaven together and are happy and healthy again...
In Honor of Zoe
My faithful companion of 14 years died of liver failure on September 18, 2008. She is VERY much missed! I thank God for the privilege of being her companion all those years.
