Our Revamped Front Porch

Steve was planning to make a minor repair to the ceiling of our front porch last weekend. But as always with this house, things did not go as planned. However, unlike most things, this one turned out very nicely! Did you know that stucco is a PITB to put up and/or repair?! We found out the hard way! So instead of repairing it, he sanded it down and put wood over it. But that meant the wood had to be painted. And then it looked kinda silly all by itself and the porch needed some dressing up. So my handyman hubby built this railing and posts! Now if he had TOLD me what he was gonna do ahead of time, I would have said no. But he didn't and now I'm glad he didn't! I absolutely LOVE the way it looks! The support posts had to be replaced because they were rotting. The railing and small posts are all new. Of course, it took one coat of primer and two coats of paint to make it look right. And there are parts I couldn't reach with my little stepladder so Steve will have to finish those. And now my whole house needs painting, especially the front door. But those things will have to wait. We have other things on the list to do before we paint outside. :)
