I'm sorry I haven't been posting much. My 92 1/2 year old father has been ill off and on for the past 3 years. In October 2013 we lost my Mother to a very rare form of cancer and Daddy's dementia kept getting worse after she died. Daddy passed away on January 30 a week after what would have been their 67th anniversary. While it was expected, it was VERY hard on my brothers, sister-in-law, my daughter and her family, and of course on me. I have ALWAYS been a Daddy's girl! While I miss them both terribly, I know they're in heaven holding hands and having a great time visiting all their family and friends and the saints that have gone before them. I look forward to spending eternity with them someday.
Meanwhile, I have to find a way to go on. They LOVED receiving my cards and seeing my scrapbook pages. So in honor of them, I am sharing some love themed projects below. Love is ALWAYS in the air and of course you could always change the theme/shapes to some other theme! Be creative!!!
Owl Always Love You! - I made this card using the Mini Harlequin Stencil by Crafter's Workshop from the Scrapping Turtle Store along with some old Craf-T Chalk to create my background. Stencils are SOOO much FUN and versatile! This was also for a challenge in the forum by Phillis to use a stamp to create an embellishment.
Materials – Cardstock – Bazzill; Card Base, Bling – Recollections; Border Punch – Martha Stewart; Heart Punch #917; Heart Stamp – Stampin Up; Owl Stamp – Chatter Box; Chalk – Craf-T; Pen – Sharpie; Inks – Ranger Distress; Stencil – Crafter’s Workshop; Washi Tape – My Mind’s Eye
Be My Sweet Valentine - I used leftover pieces from the Owl card to create this page. I embossed the papers, then punched them. I splattered Glimmer Mist all over. I outlined the embossing and the hearts and added the punched border leftover at the bottom. There’s a metal “I Love You” in the middle of the hearts.
Materials – Cardstock – Bazzill; Card Base, Bling – Recollections; Stencil – Crafter’s Workshop; Large Heart Punch – Creative Memories; Small Heart Punch – Kreaxions #917; Embosser – Cuttlebug; Glimmer Mist – Tattered Angels; Pens – Sharpie, Omni Gel; Bling - Recollections
Loads of Love Card - This was a challenge by Debbie to decorate the inside of your card... I always have fun with this pickup truck stamp! I added some stamped hearts in the back and decorated the inside with leftovers from the punching. For the inside I used scraps and cut-away punch pieces to decorate the inside. There's plenty of room for a personal note AND a sentiment, plus room for our signatures.
Materials – Cardstock – Michael’s, Bazzill; Patterned Paper – Unknown; Punch – Kreaxions #917; Stamps – Stampin Up; Ink – Ranger Distress; Pens – Infinity, Sharpie, OmniGel
There's a lot of love on this page. And I'd like to share some with you. As you can see I love to use Kreaxions Punches. They're AWESOME! If you'd like to win one here's your chance! Just leave me a comment! Each time you comment on a post on this blog for the month of February you will get an entry to win. (Go back and post on the other February comments for more chances!) On March 3rd I will reveal the winner by using Random.Org. The prize is a punch of your choice from the Just Imagine/Kreaxions store!
