I’ve been taking an online class taught by Audrey Yeager at My Scraps & More called Lots of Layers. The second week we were challenged to use both a stencil and a sketch that Audrey designed. The details on how I created the "gear" at the top of the page are shown in the Just Imagine Crafts. A complete list of Kreaxions materials used on this page along with links to the store can be found in that blog post.
So here I'm going to focus on the techniques Audrey taught us in the class to create the elements on my page. The "sunburst" was created using a stencil included in the class kit which was created by Audrey. One of the many techniques she showed was to use the stencil and spray with mists, then turn the stencil and use ink to create the other colored lines. I absolutely LOVE the effect it gives!!!
Another tip she shared was to use your pens with your stencils. I originally thought I'd just draw lines but then I realized it would look much better if I colored them in. That's what created the lines on the gear!
In the first class we learned how to layer papers and how to use drops of mists or liquid inks rather than just spraying them! I've only done two of the four classes and I've already learned SOOOOOO much!!! I highly recommend checking into any future classes!!!
Here's the layout I created using the techniques and sketch and kit from the first class... The pictures are of my daughter in 1983.
So today I challenge you to use layers and stencils to enhance your projects! Happy Punching and Scrapping!
